More than 80 boats took part in the 80 miglia di Caorle at the beginning of April to the north of Venice and it was the Diam 24 od of Stefano BELTRANDO which came through first in multi-hull for the second year running.
Stefano explained : « The conditions were very light in the north of the Adriatic. The local sailors have an advantage because they know the local conditions. We lost alot of time between midnight and 3 o’clock in the morning. The wind dropped and we didn’t know if we should stick to the coast or go further out to sea. We finished very cold after 22 hours of sailing but the trampoline is very comfortable compared to single-hulls of the same size. »
Stefano was accompanied by Miriam Cerrutti and Ariberto Strobino, both of whom come from Turin and work for QI Composites.
