On the weekend of 5th and 6th October in Saint Malo, we welcomed around thirty sailors all interested in the Diam 24 concept.
The sun was shining for this first weekend of October, but the wind was missing and only picked up on Sunday early afternoon.
Our Diam 24 One Designs were skippered by Eric Hainneville and Joseph Brault on two boats onto which the crew were welcomed two by two for two hour sailing stretches.
The RIB used to embark and disembark the crews, enabled us to observe the D24 OD under sail.
The guests were surprised by the ease of use and the simplicity of the deck layout on the D24 OD.
Smiles, pleasure and friendliness caracterised these trial runs.
The assessment of this weekend is very encouraging and extremely positive.
The concept corresponds to our expectations.
The qualities of the D24 OD seduced the multihull lovers, but also monohull sailors, who discovered the pleasure of sailing on three hulls.
The lack of wind on Sunday allowed us to demonstrate the dismantling of the boat : a way of discovering the astuteness and innovative techniques that make the boat so simple to use.
Future trial sailing meetings : 15,16,17 October – Lanvéoc, 18,19,20 October – Brest, 2,3 November – La Trinité sur Mer.
It is also possible to try out the boat from our boatyard.
We will be present at the Paris boat show, to present the boat, hold the first general meeting of the class, present of the 2014 racing calendar …..
