The 2013 Nautic was a success for the Diam 24 One Design : a large number of visitors on the stand and very positive contacts. At times we had problems dealing with the intensity of interest.
This first presentation to the public was therefore a truly positive achievement and we warmly thank all our visitors.
The reception given to the Diam 24OD was exceptional. The boat was highly complimented and received stunning and divers commentaries :
« She’s the best looking boat at the show, the design is magnificent, she is splendid, she is sexy, she’s a mini MOD 70 …. »
Thanks to all these encounters we were able to confirm that this concept corresponds to market expectations. Our visitors were seduced by the rapidity and ease of building and dismantling of the D24OD. The « no knot » trampoline, the simple rudder blocking system, the uncluttered deck layout and the fact that this boat is trailerble behind a car without needing a special licence are all innovations highly apreciated by the public – and everyone feels capable of using …….
In general, its simplicity and design were admired along with its « no stress » friendly user side that make sailing hassle free and garantees emotions.
We were also able to note that this day boat is multi function : for family rides as an alternative to RIBs, but also for corporate outings.
Its simplicity, size and stability will permit certain sailing schools to present this sport under a different angle and above all, on a multihull, which is rare. The Diam 24 OD will also seduce the racers among us, on long distant courses, built up courses or match races – all within a strict one design class.
On the first Friday of the boatshow, we welcomed over one hundred guests on the stand and surrounding aisles to celebrate the christening of the D24OD, with Servanne Moreau as godmother and Michel Desjoyaux as godfather. These highly emotional moments were followed by drinks offered by our faithful partners : The Montagne Saint Emilion wine « Le Château Le Chêne Vert », the champagne « Monmarthe » and Tropicana.
Following this intense week, several new D24 OD will emerge from the boatyard ADH Inotec based in Port La Forêt. An association has been created to define the class rules. Very shortly, the composition of the first 2014 teams will be put online, as we have not forgotten that racing is what we will develop as a priority.
